Julie Lane Director

Julie is a graduate of the McMaster Theatre and Film program and has been a dedicated member of Shatterbox Theatre Company since 2018, taking on a range of both on- and off-stage roles. Directing She Kills Monsters is an especially meaningful endeavor, blending her love of theatre and storytelling with a 15-year passion for Dungeons & Dragons—including the last five years as a Dungeon Master for various groups and campaigns. Previous directing credits include The Drowning Girls (2022) and co-directing Spring Awakening (2022) and The Crucible (2023). On stage, she performed as Henry in The Small Room at the Top of the Stairs (2019) and as John Proctor in The Crucible (2023). Julie is thrilled to bring this bold, imaginative story to life with this talented team of nerds.

Angie Scott Stage Manager

Angie Scott is the stage manager for She Kills Monsters and has been a dedicated member of the Shatterbox Theatre Company team since 2019. Known for her calm presence and sharp organizational skills, Angie ensures that every moment behind the scenes runs seamlessly. In addition to her work stage managing, she has also joined the Shatterbox Board of Directors, where she continues to champion the vital and vibrant world of stagecraft. Angie is passionate about the collaborative process and takes great pride in supporting artists and technicians alike in bringing bold stories to life. She’s honored to help guide this epic adventure from rehearsal room to curtain call.

Phil Dowling Production Manager and Lighting Designer/Technician

Phil Dowling is a professional lighting designer and serves as the Treasurer on the Board of Directors for Shatterbox Theatre Company. For She Kills Monsters, Phil brings his expert eye and technical artistry to the lighting design, crafting bold, cinematic visuals that heighten the play’s epic battles and emotional depth. As production manager, he oversees the coordination of all technical departments, ensuring a smooth and cohesive process from first cue to final curtain. With years of experience designing for stages across the globe, Phil is passionate about using light to tell powerful stories—and is proud to support Shatterbox both on and off stage.

Nella Casson Set Designer & Prop Builder

Nell Casson is the visionary set designer and the creative force behind the monsters and puppets in She Kills Monsters. Working at the intersection of visual art and theatrical storytelling, Nell brings imagination and intricacy to every piece she creates. Her designs for this production transform the stage into a dynamic, otherworldly realm—blending fantasy, nostalgia, and a touch of danger. A multidisciplinary artist, Nell has contributed to numerous projects as both a scenic designer and puppet-maker, and she is thrilled to collaborate with Shatterbox Theatre Company on this epic journey. Special thanks to the cast and crew for bringing her creations to life!

Sean Ferguson Photographer & Set Construction

Sean Ferguson, est. 1982, does not consider himself a “theatre person” per se, but he is a strong supporter of the arts. With a specialty in photography, particularly with film, Sean has been a part of the production and art teams for various Shatterbox Theatre shows since 2018. Fulfilling the roles of set builder, tech support, and of course,  photographer, Sean is able to satisfy his enjoyment of swinging a hammer, solving technological issues, and capturing stunning moments of candid action with his trusty hasselblad. Amy Reid Marketing & Outreach

Amy Reid is the Marketing and Outreach Coordinator for She Kills Monsters and is thrilled to be making her debut with Shatterbox Theatre Company. A recent transplant to Prince Edward County, Amy brings a wealth of experience from the world of film and television. Passionate about storytelling in all forms, she’s excited to bring her skills to the world of live theatre and to help connect new audiences with the magic of Shatterbox. Amy is grateful to be part of such a creative and welcoming community and looks forward to many more productions ahead.
